chai pe charcha. Hindi for a conversation over tea, the unhurried talk where much Indian business actually begins.
The Canada-India Business Bridge is for Canadian businesses that want Indian clients, partners or talent, and for Indian firms that want to work in Canada with someone already vouching for them.
Well over a million Canadians have roots in India, so the human bridge already exists. What is missing is a way for a good firm in Toronto and a good firm in Bengaluru, Pune or Delhi to hear about each other, and a reason to trust each other when they do. That is what an introduction from someone who knows both sides provides.
Canadian business tends to be careful and process minded. Indian business tends to move on relationships and personal trust. Each side of this Bridge has its own host who lives there and knows how decisions are really made at home.

Preethi Balasubramanian holds the Canadian end of the Bridge, from Toronto. She is a business transformation coach and operations consultant, and the founder of WonderEA. In her own words, she works with founders who are exceptional at what they do but exhausted from carrying everything alone, and helps them move from reactive, messy operations to calm, scalable systems that support both the business and the human running it. She brings over 15 years across executive support, HR, operations and systems design, and believes ease is a leadership strategy, not a reward at the end. Outside work she is a children's author and a parent. She speaks English, Hindi and Tamil.
More about PreethiIndiaseat open
The founding India host seat is open. One person in India will hold this side. Someone Indian business already trusts, who wants to choose the first members on their side personally and bring them to Canada.
Talk to us about itIn India a lot of business starts over a cup of chai, not across a boardroom table. Someone you trust says you should meet, you share tea, and the work follows the trust. Canada knows the same habit over a coffee. What neither side can do is share a cup with a stranger half a world away. An introduction from someone who knows you both puts the cup on the table.
