Tequio. From the Nahuatl tequitl, work. In Mexican communities tequio is the work each person gives to the community, unpaid, because the community is theirs too.
The Mexico-USA Coaching Bridge is for business owners and professionals in Mexico and the United States who want support as well as introductions. Coaches are welcome, and so is everyone else: anyone can join.
Running a business is lonely work, and it is lonelier across a border. Americans building a life in Mexico, Mexicans growing into the United States and people who simply work with both need someone to think out loud with, and someone who knows who to call. Here members coach and encourage each other, share what has worked, and introduce each other to the people who can help.
It is also where careers move. Members in Mexico and the United States sometimes meet their next client, their next employer or their next hire here, because the best opportunities often come through someone a trusted person recommends.
Each side of this Bridge has its own host, living there, who knows how business really works at home and who is glad to help you think something through before you make the call.

Talk to us about itA plain guide for Americans running a business or a practice from Mexico, and for Mexican professionals working with the United States. Why it can feel lonely, where the help really comes from, and why an open community that coaches and introduces its members works better than cold outreach.

The Mexico-USA Coaching Bridge, part of My Most Trusted, is built on the same idea of members supporting each other in turns. Read more
In many Mexican towns, when a road needs mending or a neighbour needs a roof, people turn up and do it together. That is tequio. Its everyday form is mano vuelta, the returned hand: I help you with your harvest, you help me with mine. Nobody keeps an invoice. The help goes round, and over time everyone is carried by it. This Bridge works the same way. Members bring what they know, coach and support each other's businesses, and introduce each other to the people who can help.
